From in the early eighties in Spanish Town Jamaica, reggae dancehall music arose as a reaction to the prevalence of traditional reggae. Initially, it was characterized by MCs toasting on top of reggae riddims, quickly progressing into a signature blend of electronic sounds, driving beats, and often explicit lyrics. The sound saw further development
